was married with one child when she was tried at the Old Bailey in 1787 for stealing a coat.
Sentenced to 7 years' transportation, she sailed on the Prince of Wales. On 24 July 1787,
on the voyage to Rio de Janeiro, the jolly-boat fell from the booms where the ship's carpenter
was caulking it, and struck Bonner on the head. She died 6 days later. Copyright
