was convicted at the Devon Assizes in March 1786 for stealing in broad daylight. Sentenced to seven years
transportation, he arrived on the Charlotte and worked at Norfolk Island from October
1788. He was later emancipated by Governor King
and allowed to settle on a 10 acre grant.
