was tried at the Old Bailey in 1785 for stealing a trunk of clothing from the Gosport wagon.
Bauford claimed that he 'was coming to town and a man gave him the trunk'. He was sentenced to
7 years' transportation and arrived on the Alexander. From 1791 he worked as a carpenter
on Norfolk Island and was granted 50 acres in 1793.Copyright
